Types Of Energy Healing
Is All Energy Healing the Same?
Chakra, or energy centers, is a concept employed in Pranic healing—an ancient Hindu system of energy healing. Prana refers to life energy, and the term "aura" is another aspect derived from Pranic healing. An aura is a non-physical body composed of energy that coexists with our physical body. The enveloping aura is believed to have seven layers corresponding to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of an individual as manifested through energy.
Examining the color and thickness of auras provides insights into the health status of individuals. There are six colors associated with auras, each interpreted to represent a specific personality trait. While all six colors may be present in an individual, one or two tend to be more pronounced.
Green: Ambitious achiever
Blue: Spiritual peacemaker
White: Unconventional chameleon
Red: Activist
Orange: Creative communicator
Violet: Psychic
While Tantra is commonly linked to the integration of sexuality and spirituality, it is also a form of energy healing. Derived from the word "tan," meaning to spread or expand, the recurring theme in Tantric writings involves the concept of interconnectedness between sex and spirituality. In the context of healing, spirituality and sexuality play significant roles. It is assumed that the union of two individuals during orgasm can transcend to spiritual levels, cleansing the body and mind of accumulated impurities. These impurities, often negative energies, may otherwise manifest as physical illnesses.
In contrast to Puranic and Tantric healings, both rooted in Hindu origins, Reiki traces its origins to Japan. Rediscovered in the early 1900s, Reiki is relatively younger than Pranic and Tantric healing methods. The term "Reiki" represents universal energy, believed to be channeled by a higher intelligence. Reiki students are instructed in harnessing this energy for the purpose of healing physical, emotional, and mental ailments.
While Pranic, Tantra, and Reiki share the commonality of being energy healing systems, they diverge in the type of energy harnessed for healing: life energy, sexual energy, and universal energy, respectively. Some key similarities among these three healing methods include the concepts of the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit; the connection of individuals to all living and nonliving elements in their surroundings and the universe; and how energy influences physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Why Do People Turn to Energy Healing?
Pranic, Tantric, and Reiki are regarded as alternative healing methods. Despite the widespread availability and accessibility of modern medicine, why do an increasing number of individuals find themselves attracted to these practices? Here are a few potential reasons:
Energy healing succeeded where modern medicine fell short.
For various reasons, both understandable and inexplicable, contemporary medical interventions may prove ineffective in treating ailments and conditions in certain individuals, if not a considerable number.
Modern medicine is often perceived as isolating by individuals.
Frequently, medical treatments concentrate on the disease and its causative agent, potentially causing patients to feel isolated and treated merely as hosts of the illness. Despite recent advancements in hospital practices that promote holistic patient care, this perception continues. In contrast, energy healing, with its intimate connection between energy and spirituality, gives patients the sense that all aspects of their health are being addressed.
Energy healing is non-intrusive and natural, making it a safer alternative. Repeated surgical procedures can be physically and emotionally traumatic for many patients. It is a sensible and appealing choice for both patients and their families to seek less stressful healthcare interventions.
Energy healing serves as an effective stress-relief method. Meditation is an integral component of energy healing practices, providing an additional advantage for individuals experiencing high levels of stress. Furthermore, the absence of sophisticated equipment makes it particularly convenient for current and prospective students of energy healing.
Both alternative healing and mainstream medicine offer benefits in their approaches. Ultimately, what holds significance is the restoration of good health.
